Kanchipuram:Kanchipuram is an important temple town in close proximity to Chennai. Kanchipuram is one of the pancha boothas representing “Earth” in the temple of Ekambareswarar. It’s a beautiful temple and large like other major temples in Tamil Nadu. Kanchipuram is also known for the world famous Kanchipuram saree.

Tirumala:The temple town of Tirumala attracts Lakhs of devotees every year. The presiding deity is Lord Balaji, an avtar of Vishnu. Incredibly popular among Tamilians, Telugus and rest of India, Tirumala is the richest temple in the World earning whooping donations in the form of Cash, Jewellery, Precious stones & Gold. A visit to this holy site not only helps you in offering prayers but also presents a relaxing atmosphere in a religious atmosphere.

Madurai: Madurai is one of the cultural strongholds of South India and Tamil Nadu in particular. It also is a major industrial town producing many of India’s daily needs. It is one of the oldest cities of India. A major temple – Meenakshi Amman Temple situated here signifies the city’s religious importance. It was voted as one of the major “New Wonders of the World”. They are an estimated 33,000 sculptures on the temple.

Chidambaram: Chidambaram like many others in Tamil Nadu is an important temple town. It is one of the Pancha Bhootam (five elements) sites representing space. Tanjavur:Some of the greatest Hindu temples in the World can be found here. Thanjavur is an important center of South Indian art and architecture. Most of the Great Living Chola Temples which are UNESCO World Heritage Monuments are located in and around Thanjavur. The foremost among the Great Living Chola temples, the Brihadeeswara Temple, is located in the center of the city. It is testimony to Tamil’s great Historic, Cultural & Religious significance. Tanjavur is well connected by road to to all major towns in Tamil Nadu

Rameshwaram:Rameshwaram forms one of the Char Dhams (four holy places) in India and so is considered a revered site. It is at the tip of the Indian Subcontinent and part of the Epic story of Ramayana. Apart from the spectacular temple of Rameshwaram, there are many other sights to see including the Ram sethu, many pristine beaches, Pamban bridge, e.t.c. Rameshwaram is worth considering in your itinerary down south.
