For the avid train lover, Palace on Wheels presents a Journey by train to important tourist destinations. Palace on Wheels is a heritage service run by Indian Railways that showcases Tour of Rajasthan in carriages that is remniscent of the British Raj. The train runs from New Delhi and ends there. By far, the most popular way of criss crossing Rajasthan is by Road. Rajasthan tours can be undertaken from New Delhi combined with Agra and Delhi. Geographically, Rajasthan is divided into the Aravalli range and Thar Desert. The Aravalli range cuts across Rajasthan from South east to North west. It’s eastern part receives most of the little rainfall helping its terrain grow little green. Its deciduous forest consists of two famed Tiger reserves in Ranthambore and Sariska. The state boasts one of the World’s best bird sanctuaries in Keoladeo National Park at Bharatpur. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it is can be easily reached from New Delhi or Jaipur and be included in your tour to Rajasthan.

Jaipur:
Pink City, Jaipur is the capital and the largest city of Rajasthan. Founded my Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727. Jaipur is one of the finest planned cities of India, located in the semi-desert lands of Rajasthan. The city which once had been the capital of the royalty now is the capital city of Rajasthan. The very structure of Jaipur resembles the taste of the Rajputs and the Royal families. At present, Jaipur is a major business centre with all requisites of a metropolitan city.

Jodhpur:
Jodhpur is a popular tourist destination, featuring many palaces, forts and temples, set in the stark landscape of the Thar desert. Rajasthan’s second largest city is known as the “Sun City” for the bright, sunny weather it enjoys all year. It is also referred to as the “Blue City” due to the blue-painted houses around the Mehrangarh Fort. The old city circles the fort and is bounded by a wall with several gates. However, the city has expanded greatly outside the wall over the past several decades. Jodhpur lies near the geographic centre of Rajasthan state, which makes it a convenient base for travel in a region much frequented by tourists

Udaipur:
Udaipur is referred to as the “Venice of the East”, the “Most Romantic City of India” and the “Kashmir of Rajasthan” (a reference to Dal Lake) and not without reason. Tourists flock to this enchanting old & modern town in the heart of the Aravalli Mountains, which offers three interconnected lakes within the town – the Fateh Sagar Lake, the Lake Pichhola and the smaller Swaroop Sagar Lake; along with forts, palaces, temples, gardens, mountains and narrow lanes lines withdrawn with stalls, relives the reminisces of a heroic past, valor and chivalry
